A Message from Our Founder

I started Pimmit Run with one belief: property management companies have drifted away from the reason they exist, which is to increase the value of every home in the communities they manage.

I grew up in the Washington, D.C. area. My dad was a home builder, and my older brother is a carpenter. Every summer when I came home from college, I worked for them, tearing down houses and vacuuming up wood chips. While I worked, I'd listen in on their conversations with homeowners. That's where I learned that in a home, every detail matters.

I would hear them talk about how the sink had a small drip, or how the banister creaked if you leaned on it in just the right place. I remember thinking how minor some of these issues were, until one afternoon I asked my dad why he obsessed over what I felt were minor complaints, and he explained it to me. A sink that drips once every 45 minutes sounds minor. Then you come home after a long day, lie down, and hear that drip just as you start to fall asleep, and it keeps you up for two more hours. A banister that creaks seems minor too, until your child grabs it while running down the stairs on the way to their first day of third grade and you catch yourself wondering whether it will hold.

I started my property management career on a team of seven. Together we grew that business into one of the five largest property management companies in the country. I'm grateful I got to be part of it, because it taught me everything I know about this industry. I started as an analyst, and eventually joined the executive team, flying out every quarter to meet with our investors.

On those flights, I often thought back to those sweltering D.C. summers, hauling 2x4s to the dumpster and listening to homeowners describe what mattered to them. I was struck by the contrast between the conversations my dad and brother had with their clients and the ones we were having in boardrooms 2,000 miles away from the homes we managed. On one of those long flights, I decided to start my own management company. I wrote down a note that I still keep with me:

"I promise that every decision or recommendation I make to my customers will increase the value of their home."

Underneath it, I wrote:

Value = the happiness you get from living in your home + its future resale value

When I launched Pimmit Run in 2026, I built everything around that promise, from our technology to how we work with vendors.

  • We don't partner with banks just to make our integrations easier. We find you the best possible rate so your reserves can grow.
  • We make it easy to find vetted, qualified contractors, so a leaky sink doesn't keep you up at night.
  • We give you financial dashboards that are useful, so your board can plan for the future with confidence.

Part of property management is simply taking work off your volunteer board members' plates, and we'll always do that well. But I don't want you to see Pimmit Run as a cost you pay to keep things running. I want you to see us as an investment in your home.
